Our busted remake video.

Our Music Video:

The original music video:

Post-production

After getting together all the shots and everyone was happy with what we had filmed we got into groups and starting editing on the mac's. in our editiing group there was me, vic, jack, shellie, sophie and jordan. We tried to split it between us but didnt find that very sucsessful so we all just did what we could.

As a group we didnt find many difficulties with the editing even though only some of the group have used the mac's before to edit. We found that some of the film clips were missing so whe have had to extend some of the shots before to make sure its all in time. If we do this again i would deffinatly make sure we got some clips on the moneky ect to make it easier when filming.

I really enjoyed this task because it has really got me ready for my real video later this year. I would deffinatly consider working with the people in my editing group in the real thing because i think we really got on well as a team and didnt really have any major dissagreements.

As the software on the mac's isn't billant we have done the best we can to get clean cuts and smooth editing.

Production

As a whole class we decided to use the upstairs of the libary and just out side it to create the bit outside. There was quite a few problems with this as the room was set up for the next lesson when we needed to use it so we spent a considerable ammout of time moving chairs and tables to get them into position. Aslo becase of the time delay we couldnt just film on one day we had to film on two makeing the work load twise as much.

From having to film on two days the lack continuity became apparent. Many of the characters and dancers for the music video forgot to bring items of clothing or dad different shoes on.

One of the major problem that occured was Harley (Matt) had his hair shaved in between both filming days, so we had to re-take all the shots where he was visible. This was a big problem but through careful editing and lots of time we overcome.

What we found easy when we did it was filming outside was easy becase we did a couple of take of all of them singing and jumping together doing the whole of the chourus, then did seperate shots of each of the boys to geth their close ups.

If i was to do this again i would like to have had a part in the movie, so i know how hard it is to lip sync and be directed around, i think that way i will apprtiate how had it is to do it, as i think me and the director got fustrated when people lost their consentration.

Pre-Production

The breif that we were given was to create part of already published music video. As a class we had to choose the music video to re-enact, choose location, props, costume and actors to closely match that in the published video. As a class we chose to re-enact a video which is easy to do in school, so 'thats what i go to school for' by Busted was a good choice for us.

The location was to be in school because everyone was together and we dint have to worry about people not being able to make it because we were to do it in class time. we were going to do it in the class room but at last minute changed to upstairs of the libary, because there was more space and a projector.

As a group we made a list of the props we needed to make the video as realistic as possible. Some off the props were easy to get hold of because use them in everyday life, such as pens, paper, school uniform ect. Some props were not as easy to get hold of like gutars, old school projector and film clips of monkeys were not as easy to get hold of. So we subsitiued some of these in our film. For our actual CW we will have to include unusual props so it looks realistic and not ameture.

withing the group we chose roles for each of the pople in the class:
Charlie: Andy
James: Neil
Matt: Harley
Turn around Girl: Liv
Teacher: Vic
Walking girls: Sophie and Jordan
Dancers:rest of class
Director: Aiden
Camera: Emily (ME)
Assistant director: Jack

We also made a list of all the risks that could occur when making this video and how we could stop these thing from happening:
- Tripping in the dark; clear the floor to make sure ther is nothing to trip on.
-jumping with the gutar and dropping it; use a strap so there is no chance of dropping it.
- Harm eyes in the projector; dont look directly into it.
- Charlie chewing gum; Remove before doinging the jumping around scene.
- Barging people out the way; prepare for the barge and move, dont wait to be pushed.
- Bending down could hurt back; make sure you bend at your knees and not you back.
- Jumping and hurting knees and ankles; wear proper supportive footwear.
- Papercut through passing paper; hold it properly, dont mess around.
- Ran over in carpark; keep people on guard to stop the cars when filming.
